Moss was born on the 13th of February, 1977. He is an American footballer. He
was a player with the Minnesota Vikings (Oak Raiders), New England Patriots
(New England Patriots), Tennessee Titans (Tennessee Titans), and the San
Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. Alongside Jerry Rice, he is
widely considered the greatest wide receiver ever. Moss holds the NFL
single-year touchdown reception record (23 in 2007) as well as the rookie NFL
single season touchdown reception mark (17 in 1998). Moss is second in the NFL
all time regular seasons touchdown receptions with 156. Moss was famous for his
ability to secure contested catches and the word "mossed" has been
incorporated into the football lexicon. After football, he started working for
ESPN as a studio analyst for its Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night
Countdown programs. Moss was a Rand, West Virginia native. He attended DuPont
High School. It was one of two schools that was later amalgamated into Riverside
High School. There he excelled at football, basketball tracks, and many other
sports. Randy was also a part of the school's debate club. Moss led the DuPont
Panthers football team to two consecutive state championships in 1992, 1993.
The position he excelled at was wide receiver. But Moss also played free safety
as well as punted kickoffs. He also was the team’s punter and kicker. He was
awarded the Kennedy Award for West Virginia Football Player's of the Year in
1994. Parade magazine named him to their annual All-American high school
football team in 1995 and in 2009 named him one of the 50 greatest football
players in high school of all time.
